Aberystwyth 3k
Aberystwyth 3k is a Race for Life event taking place on Sunday 10 May 2026 at The Bandstand on Marine Terrace, The Promenade, Aberystwyth. Entry is open to people aged 16 and over and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50. Prices listed are £14.99 for adults and £10.00 for children.
The course uses hardstanding pavements and roads along the coastline and the Afon Rheidol cycle route. Start and finish are on the promenade outside the bandstand. For 2026 the route runs in reverse of previous years, moving from the Promenade towards Constitution Hill, along Marine Terrace past the castle to the Marina, making a U turn at South Beach Car Park and returning to finish at the bandstand. The course surface is smooth and mostly flat with an overall ascent of 46 m; the steepest gradient is approximately 20% for about 3 m. Most of the route is wider than 2 metres and is accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, though sand blown on to the path can affect grip in bad weather.
There is no official event parking. Town centre car parks are recommended and North Road Car Park is the closest for Blue Badge holders and volunteers. Bus services do not run on Sundays. The event site offers refreshments, toilets, dogs are allowed, and sunflower wristbands and BSL stage content are available to support access.
