Race to the Top of Vermont - 20th Anniversary
Race to the Top of Vermont is an annual August fundraiser for the Catamount Trail Association, held in Stowe, Vermont. The event draws hikers, bikers, and runners from across the U.S. and Canada to climb Mount Mansfield via the historic Mansfield Toll Road.
The main course covers 4.3 miles with 2,564 feet of elevation gain to the summit. Participants may enter as runners, hikers, or cyclists, and registrations include options for individual, team, and fundraising entries. A fundraise-for-entry option requires a minimum fundraising commitment of $75 in lieu of an upfront fee. Team registrations (five or more people) receive a reduced per-person rate for certain entry periods.
Event day programming includes a kids fun run for ages 4-14 that uses one or two loops of an approximately 1 km course near the base of the Toll Road, along with post-race lunch, awards, and a raffle. Proceeds and donations support the Catamount Trail Association’s work stewarding the Catamount Trail, protecting mountain access, and supporting programs to expand access to backcountry recreation.
