Elmore 5K Run/Walk
The Town of Elmore holds its 7th annual Labor Day weekend 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 5 in Elmore, Vermont. The event includes a separate 100 yard kids dash and a chip timed 5K held on a mostly flat out and back course.
The course begins at the Elmore Fire Station on Beach Road and follows the beachfront of Elmore State Park before turning onto Rt 12. It passes the Elmore Store and the historic one room schoolhouse, then continues onto Camp Road, a well maintained dirt road with lake views past lakefront homes and camps. Participants turn around near the boat launch and return to the Fire House where refreshments and healthy snacks will be available. Top finishers will be awarded metals.
Event prizes include multiple locally sourced items and gift baskets. Registered participants receive raffle tickets with their race bibs at bib pickup and place tickets into jars for the prizes they hope to win. While participants are on the course raffle tickets are drawn and prizes are available for collection as runners cross the finish line.
T shirts for the 5K must be ordered online prior to August 20. A limited number of shirts will be available for purchase on race day but no shirt orders will be accepted on race day. The first 25 participants from Lamoille County register for free. Registration fees increase on Friday, September 4 to $20 for youth and $30 for adults.
