Absolute Mountain : Stowe, VT
Absolute Mountain at Stowe Mountain Resort, Vermont, is an outdoor hybrid fitness race scheduled for September 5, 2026. The event combines uphill trail running with structured workout stations and a short pre race strength test that adjusts competitors' final times.
The course covers roughly 3.0 kilometers of uphill trail and gains about 1,950 ft in elevation. Before the official start, athletes complete a 2-minute max-effort StrengthErg session; every 10 kg/m on the StrengthErg deducts 1 second from an athlete's final race time. During the course, participants encounter seven workout stations that include ski and row ergometer segments, weighted carries, lunges, and an uphill backwards run.
For the Absolute Division, athletes wear a weight vest throughout the race and all on-course stations. Vest loads are specified by gender: men 20 lbs, women 12 lbs. The StrengthErg is performed pre race without the vest. Qualification scores are required to enter the Absolute Division and must be submitted at least 31 days before the event; uploaded qualification times are valid for four months.
Additional logistical details include the listed primary airport Burlington International Airport (BTV) and nearby accommodations associated with Stowe Mountain Resort. The event description lists station distances, weights, and formats to clarify on-course expectations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
