Absolute Mountain - Stowe, VT
Absolute Mountain at Stowe Mountain Resort is a purpose-driven outdoor hybrid fitness race held on September 5, 2026. The course runs approximately 3.0 kilometers uphill with about 1,950 feet of elevation gain and combines trail running with multiple workout stations.
Athletes begin with a 2-minute, max-effort StrengthErg chest press completed before the official start. Performance on the StrengthErg affects final results: every 10 kg/m recorded reduces the final time by 1 second. Along the uphill course, competitors complete seven on-course workout stations.
- StrengthErg - 2 minutes pre-race; score adjusts final time
- Over the shoulder medicine ball toss - 30 reps
- SkiErg - 700 m
- Weighted lunges - 70 m
- RowErg - 700 m
- Uphill backwards run - 100 m
- Suitcase carry - 150 m per side
- BikeErg - 1200 m
The event offers two divisions. The Standard Division is the default entry. The Absolute Division requires athletes to meet a qualification score and wear a weight vest during the race; vests are 20 lb for men and 12 lb for women and are worn for all on-course stations (the StrengthErg is exempt). Optional qualification times may be uploaded in advance to help determine start waves.
Primary travel access is via Burlington International Airport and accommodations are available in the Stowe area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
