Absolute Mountain at Stowe Mountain Resort is a hybrid outdoor fitness race that combines uphill trail running with multiple on-course workout stations. The course covers approximately 3.0 kilometers of uphill terrain with a total elevation gain of 1,950 ft.
The event begins with a pre-race, two minute, max-effort StrengthErg chest press completed without a weight vest. The on-course sequence includes seven performance stations: an over-the-shoulder medicine ball toss (30 reps), a 700 m SkiErg, weighted lunges for 70 m, a 700 m RowErg, a 100 m uphill backwards run, a suitcase carry totaling 300 m (typically 150 m per side), and a 1,200 m BikeErg. Station implement weights and rep schemes differ by gender in the Absolute Division.
Two participation divisions are available. The Standard Division is the default entry. The Absolute Division requires submission of qualification results by 31 days before the race and acceptance by the organizer; athletes who are not accepted by the deadline compete in the Standard Division. Participants may optionally upload verified times to determine start waves; uploaded times remain valid for four months.
