Event overview
The Race to Protect Delaware’s Children 5k Run/Walk is scheduled for April 2026 at Glasgow Park Playground on Pulaski Highway in Newark, DE (2275 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702). The event benefits the Office of the Child Advocate and the Protecting Delaware’s Children Fund. Results and photos will be posted online after the race.

Registration and fees
The listed registration price for both the 5K and Competitive Walking 5K is $39.44 for the registration period shown. T-shirts are available for pre-registered participants and for day-of registrants on a first-come, first-served basis. Timing will use chip timing with the MYLAPS BibTag system and results will be posted online during and after the event.
Awards, amenities and policies
Overall and masters top finishers are scored by gun time; all other age groups are scored by chip (net) time. Medals are awarded to the top three in each age group and to top walkers. Event amenities include an after party with music and post-race refreshments. No dogs are allowed due to insurance liability. Bibs are non-transferable. There are no refunds on registrations.
