Dozer's Run/Walk 5K
Dozer’s Run/Walk 5K is an annual fundraising event held in Hockessin, Delaware, that supports canine cancer research. The event is organized by Summers Charity Fund in memory of Dozer and directs all donations to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, including the Penn Vet Cancer Center. Since 2020 the fundraiser has helped raise over $100,000 for this research.
The event takes place at Concord Pet Hockessin, 697 Yorklyn Road, Hockessin DE 19707. Participants receive a swag bag and a T shirt with pre-registration. Bib pick up and on site registration are available at Concord Pet on race day. There is ample parking in the Concord Pet parking lot.
Race-day features include awards for overall male and female, overall masters, and top three finishers in each age group based on chip time. Age groups begin at 13 and under and proceed through 70 and older. A raffle of donated items and gift baskets is held with prizes displayed on site. A tailgating gathering follows the event with outdoor games and food; attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
For insurance reasons dogs are not permitted to attend the event. A course map is provided for directional purposes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
