Race Thru The Redwoods
Race Thru The Redwoods is an annual event in Felton, California, featuring trail running through Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. The event includes these distances:
- 10K race through Henry Cowell Redwoods
- 1-mile Kids Race for ages 2 to 12
The 10K begins with about one mile on paved or dirt roads and continues on trails beneath redwoods, through meadows, and alongside the San Lorenzo River. The course gains approximately 300 feet in elevation between mile 2.5 and mile 3.5. The return section is downhill on a mix of dirt trails and paved roads. The route is marked with mile markers and supported by staffed water and aid stations.
Packet pickup occurs on site on race day and is available as early as 7am. Registered runners receive a continental breakfast and an event t-shirt. A pancake breakfast is offered by the Zayante Fire Department after the race; it is free for runners while supplies last and available to non runners for a fee, with proceeds benefiting the fire department.
Timing uses professional electronic chip services and results are provided immediately after the race.
