Summit Rock Half Marathon, 10K & 5K : Sanborn Regional Park
Date: December 12, 2026. The event takes place in the redwood groves of the Santa Cruz Mountains at Sanborn Regional Park, just outside Silicon Valley. Routes run on single-track trails through pine and redwood forests, with ascents to peaks that provide views over the surrounding hills.
The program offers three distances and welcomes walkers and hikers. Half marathon and 10K courses include climbs to higher terrain; all distances incorporate trail sections and downhill and flat segments. Electronic chip timing is used for all races and all finishers receive custom finisher medals. The event is part of the Brazen Ultra Half Series, a group of half marathons noted for significant ascents and descents and for sometimes measuring longer than 13.1 miles.
The description of the course notes that walking hills is a normal approach on these trails and that energy can be saved for flatter and downhill sections.
