Race Judicata 2027, Anchorage
Race Judicata is an annual community 5K run/walk organized by the Young Lawyers Section of the Anchorage Bar Association to benefit the Anchorage Youth Court. The event for 2027 is scheduled for August 8 in Anchorage.
The course begins at Margaret Eagan Sullivan Park (Westchester Lagoon) and proceeds northward along the coast trail. The distance offered is 5K and the entry fee is $50, which includes a t shirt. Children under 10 enter free and donations are encouraged. The Young Lawyers Section will provide drinks and snacks. Participants are asked to leave pets at home.
Anchorage Youth Court is a diversionary program for youth in grades 7 through 12 who are accused of breaking the law. Local youth participate as attorneys, judges, bailiffs, clerks, and jurors during hearings, and members receive legal education and opportunities to apply that education in actual court sessions. The program offers defendants a hearing by trained peers with the possibility of resolving legal matters without receiving a formal juvenile record, and it provides community service as part of redress.
