Chelmsford Pretty Muddy 5k
The Chelmsford Pretty Muddy event takes place on Sunday 18 July 2027 at Hylands Park, Greenbury Way, Chelmsford CM2 8FS. It is organised by Cancer Research UK and features a muddy obstacle course over a distance of 5k with a minimum fundraising target of £50. Adult entry price is £25.49 and child entry price is £15.00.
The course is fully contained within the grounds of Hylands Park. The start and finish are on grass in the open area behind Flint Cottage, with the finish opposite the start. The surface is grass with some slight inclines and undulating areas; in wet weather some parts may become soft. Obstacles involve climbing, crawling and sliding. Marshals are present and participants may skip an obstacle if needed.
Start times are organised in staggered waves that begin every 15 minutes. Groups should book the same wave to stay together. To take part as a registered participant an individual must be at least 13 years old at the time of the event. Child tickets are for ages 6 to 15 and a child must be registered by a parent or guardian or an adult over 18 with parental consent. Children under 6 can accompany registered adults free of charge but are not registered participants.
Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets and parking. The event is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for pushchairs. Blue badge parking is available on tarmac about 100 m from the event site.
