Sikhs in the City Dawn to Dusk Marathon & Ultra
The Sikhs in the City Dawn to Dusk event takes place in Woodford Green, utilizing a certified 2.014 km loop course. The route is predominantly set on a tarmac surface and is described as undulating but wheelchair friendly. This lap-based format allows participants to determine their final distance and medal category based on the number of laps they complete during the day.
The event offers several individual distances and a team category:
- 10 km
- 22 km (11 laps)
- Marathon (21 laps)
- Ultra (Minimum 25 laps)
- Team Relay Ultra (50 km - 25 laps)
The Team Relay Ultra is open to teams of up to five participants. Individual runners can continue completing laps until late afternoon, with those completing 25 laps or more earning an Ultra medal. Rankings for the individual Ultra category are determined by the total number of laps completed rather than the time taken to reach the 25-lap mark.
The course features chip timing, with progress displayed on an electronic board at the start and finish line. A dedicated feeding station is located at the car park of Teresa Gavin House, providing drinks, savouries, fruit, and snacks such as samosas and onion bhajis. Protective measures include a strict etiquette policy and medical support from paramedics. Participants receive a bespoke race medal and an event T-shirt for their participation.
Free parking is available along the route, with the organizer requesting that participants park at least 100m away from the main start area. The Marathon and Ultra distances are recognized by the 100 Marathon Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
