Chelmsford Race for Life at Hylands Park
This running event, organised by Cancer Research UK, takes place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford. Distances available include:
- 10k
- 5k
- 3k
The start and finish are on grass and the course sits entirely within the grounds of Hylands Park. The surface is grass with slight inclines and undulating areas. The 10k is a double lap of the 5k route. The events are chip timed.
The meeting point is the open grass area behind Flint Cottage, with the finish opposite that location. There is a designated event car park accessed via Greenbury Way, and a managed drop off zone near the car park. Blue badge parking is accessed via the Hylands House entrance. First Bus service 351 stops outside the park and Chelmsford railway station is about 3.5 miles away. There are roughly 20 cycle spaces in the main car park.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets and a bag drop is not available. The route is not suitable for wheelchair users or for pushchairs because it is an undulating cross country course on grass. Sunflower wristbands are available at the enquiries marquee, a QR code will provide BSL stage content, and Event Managers have Dementia Friends training.
Entry details note a minimum age of 16 and over, ticket prices from £11.00 to £17.49, and a minimum fundraising target of £50.
