About the race
The Race for Education takes place on November 7, 2026 on the University of South Florida campus in Tampa, Florida, hosted by Hillsborough County Public Schools, the Hillsborough Education Foundation, and the USF College of Education. The event offers both a chip timed 5K and an untimed 1 Mile that may be run or walked. Student musical performances are scheduled along the course.
Registration and fee structure for the 5K is listed as $40 from August 1 through October 7, and $45 from October 8 through race day, November 7. The 1 Mile registration fee is $20 through race day, November 7. Registration includes a race day bib, a swag bag with partner items, and a race shirt. All finishers receive a medal. Shirt size choices will be available close to race day on a first come, first served basis.
Awards for the 5K include overall male and female awards and 1st through 3rd place awards in five year age groups. Post race offerings include food, drink, giveaways, and participant goodie bags. Packet pickup details and parking information are to be announced.
