Glamaig Hill Race - 26
The Glamaig Hill Race is a hill running event held on Skye. The course starts from the Sligachan Hotel and covers a distance of 4.5 miles with approximately 2500 feet of ascent. The event is organised by the Skye and Lochalsh Running Club and is listed as the 26th running of the race.
Entrants must be 18 or older. The published entry fee is £5 and limited entry on the day is available. Entries for the 2026 event open on 1 April and close on 9 July, with a noted entry list showing participants already registered.
Competitors are required to wear or carry windproof body cover. Given local variable weather, participants are advised to have waterproof full body cover available; organisers may insist this is worn or carried in adverse conditions.
The Sligachan Hotel runs additional events alongside the hill race. Proceeds from the race and associated events are donated to the Skye Mountain Rescue Team. Event terms and the cancellation and refund policy are published by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
