Event Details

The Trotternish Ridge Race follows a route from Flodigary to Storr Lochs along the Trotternish Ridge, passing Meal na Suiramach, Ben Edra, and the Storr. The distance is approximately 27 km with about 2000 m of ascent and descent.

Course and Participation

The course is unmarked. Competitors must navigate between unmanned checkpoints and are expected to be competent with map and compass. Grid references for checkpoints will be released closer to the event. Marshals and water will be available at checkpoints 2 and 4.

This is a Category A long hill race. Competitors must have completed similar events or have relevant experience within the last three years. The race operates under Scottish Hill Runners kit requirements, and all runners will be kit-checked. Organisers may require runners to carry a survival bag depending on weather conditions.
