Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme 2027
The Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme is a Sky Race taking place on 17 July 2027 in the Patterdale area, running around sections of the Helvellyn Massif in the English Lake District. The course distance is 28 km with 2700 m of ascent and includes technical ground, hands on rock sections and scrambling along ridge lines.
Entry is restricted to participants aged 19 or older on race day. Applicants must complete a pre-entry application describing their mountain running, race and scrambling experience for review. Required experience may include completion of several named mountain races or runs within the past five years of around 18 miles / 30 km or more, significant mountain enchainments or rounds, or significant rock climbing experience such as high grade solo scrambling, lead climbing, bouldering or winter climbing. No payment is taken at the application stage; successful applicants are redirected to complete payment and confirm their place. Applications are usually reviewed within 96 hours. The Race Director has final authority on entry decisions.
Published entry fees rise in stages: £110, then £120 from 06/12/2026, and £130 from 31/03/2027. Included in the entry fee are a fully marked course, a post-race meal with dietary options, a compostable finishers’ medal, GPS tracking and timing by Open Tracking, and a mountain-qualified safety team.
