Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme 2027
The Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme is a mountain skyrace taking place in the English Lake District around the Helvellyn Massif near Patterdale on 17 July 2027. The route is listed as 28 km with 2700 m of ascent and includes technical ground, hands-on rock sections, scrambling and steep descents.
Entry opens on 2 October 2026 at 08:00 and closes on 4 July 2027. Competitors must be at least 19 years old on race day. The event uses an application and vetting process: applicants must detail relevant mountain running, race and scrambling experience for review. No payment is taken at application; applications are usually reviewed within 96 hours. Successful applicants are redirected to SI Entries to complete entry and payment. The Race Director has final decision on entry eligibility.
Applicants must demonstrate recent long mountain race experience or significant mountain challenges and must have significant rock climbing or high grade scrambling experience. Examples of races and challenges cited for consideration include Ennerdale Horseshoe, Keswick Mountain Festival 50 km, V3K, Glencoe Skyline, Lakes in a Day, Tour de Helvellyn, Lakeland Classic Rock Round, Dennis Rankin Round, Bob Graham Round, Ramsay Round and Paddy Buckley Round.
The entry package includes a fully marked course, a post race meal with vegan and gluten free options, a compostable finisher medal, GPS tracking and timing by Open Tracking, and a mountain qualified safety officer and support team.
