Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme 2027
The Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme is a mountain skyrace held on 17 July 2027 in Patterdale, on and around the Helvellyn Massif in the English Lake District UNESCO area. The course is 28 km long with approximately 2700 m of ascent. The route includes technical ground, hands-on rock sections, scrambles and steep descents suited to skyrunning.
Entries are allocated using a preselection list. Entry opening and closing dates are listed on the event page, with entries opening 20 July 2026 and closing 4 July 2027. The minimum age on race day is 19. Applicants must detail mountain running, race and scrambling experience for review and vetting by the Race Director. Successful applicants will be asked to complete payment through SI Entries; no payment is taken at the preselection stage.
Required experience includes completion of several named mountain races or runs of around 18 miles / 30 km or more within the past five years or equivalent significant mountain challenges. Significant rock climbing experience is a mandatory requirement and may include high grade solo scrambling, lead climbing, bouldering or winter climbing.
