Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme (28 km, 2700 m ascent)
Rab Pinnacle Ridge Extreme is a one-day skyrace around the Helvellyn Massif near Patterdale. The route covers approximately 28 km with 2700 m of ascent and includes long runnable ascents through the Glenridding Mines, technical singletrack, scree descents and knife-edge ridge sections. The course contains five graded scrambles and hands-on rock sections that require climbing ability rather than simple walking over rocky ground.
Entry to the event is by pre-selection and entries are strictly vetted. Competitors must be at least 19 years old on race day and demonstrate significant mountain experience and rock-climbing or graded scrambling skills (for example graded scrambling at level 2 or above, lead climbing, winter or alpine climbing, or equivalent solo climbs). Applicants are asked to detail recent mountain races or recognised mountain challenges and relevant climbing experience as part of the vetting process.
Included with an entry are a fully marked course, GPS tracking and timing, a post-race meal with dietary options, a compostable finisher’s medal, and a professional safety team with mountain qualifications. The organiser provides event planning and on-course safety support and applies final discretion over entry offers and competitor eligibility.
