The course distance is 28 km with approximately 2700 m of ascent. The event is described as a technical skyrace with hands-on rock sections and a large ascent profile for the distance covered.

Entry, requirements and services

Entries use a pre-selection process and places are strictly vetted. Competitors must be at least 19 years old on race day. Applicants must demonstrate substantial mountain experience and significant rock-climbing or graded-scrambling skills (examples include high-grade solo scrambling or leader climbing experience); no climbing experience means no entry. Applications are reviewed before payment is taken, typically within 96 hours. Entry fees are listed on the organiser’s entry system and may increase partway through the entry period.

Included for entrants are a fully marked course, GPS tracking and timing, a post-race meal with dietary options, a compostable finisher’s medal, and a professional mountain-qualified safety officer and support team. The race is organised by Lake District Sky Trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
