Pinnacle Ridge Extreme
Pinnacle Ridge Extreme is a skyrace held on 17 July 2027 in Patterdale on the Helvellyn Massif, covering 28 km with 2700 m of ascent and a maximum allowed time of 10 hours. Entry fees are listed from £110 to £130 and 2027 entries open on 03 October 2026.
The route follows ridgelines and technical terrain across the Helvellyn backbone. Features include long runnable ascents through the Glenridding Mines, technical single-track sections, scree-descents, knife-edge ridgelines and five graded scrambles on the course. The race requires hands-on rock work as part of the route rather than simple walking over rough ground.
Entries are strictly vetted for rock-climbing ability. Accepted evidence includes graded scrambling of grade 2 or above, lead climbing experience, winter climbing, alpine climbing skills or solo climbs. The event documentation describes a mandatory vetting process and specifies required skills for acceptance.
