About the race
Queens Marathon Weekend is a two-day race weekend held in December at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Corona, NY. The weekend program includes multiple distance events and community activities, with races continuing rain or shine. Organizers note a pending street-race permit that could move the Sunday events onto the streets of Queens; any approved change of location will be communicated to registered runners.
Race distances offered during the weekend include:
- 26.2 miles full marathon
- 13.1 miles half marathon
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The event has a history of growth and has supported local causes in the past, including a contribution to NYC Kids Rise. A season-long points competition for Queens-based run crews and clubs, the Queens Crew Cup, culminates at this weekend, with teams earning points across QDR races throughout the year.
Awards are given to the top three men, women, and non-binary finishers overall, and to top three finishers in age groups including 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. Practical information for attendees notes parking options near the Queens Museum and public transit access via the 7 train to Mets Willets Point. Registration fees are used for race expenses and are non refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
