Event overview
The Queens Marathon and QDR Half Marathon take place over a weekend in early December in Flushing Meadows - Corona Park, Queens. The weekend includes a marathon, a half marathon, and a marathon-length relay called the World’s Borough Invitational. Packet pickup and an expo are held at the Queens Museum on the days before the races.
Course and distances
The course is a measured loop of 3.27 miles. The event uses multiple laps of this loop:
- 8 loops = Marathon
- 4 loops = Half Marathon
- 2 loops = 1 relay leg (each relay leg is 6.55 miles; 4 legs per team)
Organizers revised the course to avoid icy sections and moved to a loop around the Unisphere area. The loop is described as spectator-friendly and fully supported, with two water tables per loop providing Pocari Sweat and water.
Awards and logistics
Awards include top three overall for men, women, and non-binary finishers, and top-three age-group awards. Some race medals were delayed by customs and will be mailed to participants after the event. Live results, same-day finish-line photos, and event photo galleries are provided.
Transportation and venue
Recommended parking is at the Queens Museum lot; other nearby lots include the Queens Theatre area, Meadow Lake, and Van Wyck Expressway lots. Public transit access is via the 7 train to Mets-Willets Point, about a 10-minute walk to the Unisphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
