PVSchools Community 5K Fun Run/Walk
The PVSchools Community 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place on January 30, 2027 at the Horizon High School Football Field in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event is the 17th annual run and aims to raise awareness and encourage district employees, their families, and the wider community to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle. The main event distance is 3.1 miles and there is a free dash for children ages 10 and under held before the 5K.
Registration opens on August 20, 2026 and closes on January 30, 2027. The registration fee is $10.00; a small online registration fee may be added by the registration platform. Participants who register by January 15, 2027 are guaranteed a race T-shirt, and T-shirts will only be distributed to participants who attend the event. Kids 10 and under are free with parental supervision and must be registered so a T-shirt size can be selected and a parent or guardian can sign the waiver. Each participant should select a school or site when registering so that their school is eligible for any location-based awards. No refunds are available.
The course departs the Horizon High School field, follows Nisbet Road to Greenway Road, continues along 64th Street to Acoma, returns via 56th Street to Nisbet, and finishes back on the field. There are two aid stations: one on 64th Street just south of Greenway and one at the elementary school on Acoma near 60th Street. Water and healthy snacks will be available before and after the run. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age division: 8-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
