Puppy Love 5K - Canyon
The TTU School of Veterinary Medicine Shelter Medicine Club, a student run organization focused on supporting animal shelters and regional animal populations, is hosting the inaugural Puppy Love 5K on February 14, 2027 in Canyon, Texas. The event is organized as a fundraiser to support student led shelter medicine initiatives, community outreach, educational opportunities, and projects that improve the welfare of shelter animals while preparing veterinary students for roles in the profession.
The event features a professionally timed 5K (3.1 miles), commemorative race shirts, awards, and free race day pictures. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about adoptable dogs from the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. The race timing is provided by J3 Timing.
This first 5K fundraiser is intended to establish a continuing community event that connects students, families, runners, and animal supporters. Sponsors of the Puppy Love 5K will receive recognition as part of their support for animal welfare and veterinary education. The event location is 19290 Farm to Market 1541, Canyon, TX 79015.
