The Bar Z Wine Run 5k takes place at the Bar Z Winery in Canyon, Texas. This annual event offers a scenic course that starts and finishes directly at the winery, featuring a long out and back section down the lane. Participants can choose to run or walk the designated distance.

The event is chip-timed and scored by J3 Timing, with results posted online after the conclusion of the race. Registration includes several items: a cotton t-shirt, a shatterproof and collapsible wine glass, and a finisher medal that also functions as a wine stopper. Participants age 21 and over receive a pour of wine as part of their entry.

This event is open to participants of various ages. Minors are welcome and may register at a discounted rate, which includes a shirt, medal, and bib, though they do not receive a wine glass or wine pour. Strollers are permitted on the course, though the ground is noted as uneven. Leashed dogs are also allowed to join. Top finishers in ten-year age categories, ranging from under 9 to 80 and over, are eligible for custom age group awards.
