Punk Panther Ripon Stinger : Ripon, Studley Roger
The Ripon Stinger is a trail race starting and finishing in Studley Roger, near Ripon. The route largely follows the Ripon Rowel and passes through wooded valleys and notable sites including Fountains Abbey, Studley Water gardens, the River Skell's Valley of the Seven Bridges, St Margaret’s Church and Hackfall woods.
Distances include:
- 14.2 miles (743 ft climb)
- 23 miles (1688 ft climb)
- 35.1 miles (3456 ft climb)
The event awards ITRA points and UTMB qualification on the longer distances. Minimum age is 18 and the field is limited to 200 entrants. Entries close on Sunday 2nd May 2027 and no entries are accepted on the day.
There are three checkpoints on the route: CP1 North Stainley, CP2 Masham (ultra only) and CP3 Skelding. Support crews are permitted at the checkpoints except CP3. All ultramarathon entrants receive a tracker; other distances may hire a tracker for a fee. Provisional GPX and route descriptions are available and the final GPX will be emailed with the final competitor instructions.
Registration and race HQ are at Studley Roger Village Hall. Car parking is provided on Studley Lane for a small donation; parking in the village is not permitted. Every finisher receives a medal and an event T-shirt unless they opt out. Hot food with vegan and gluten free options is available at the finish.
