Event Overview
The Preston Fast 5 Road Race is a 5K running event organized by Preston Harriers. It is one of four Wednesday evening races held during the spring and early summer. The minimum age for participants is 16 years old on the day of the race.
Course Details
The event takes place on the traffic-free, one-mile lap cycle track at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston. The course is described as fast and flat with no tight corners. It is an accurately measured, three-lap route.
Race Format
There are two separate races held per evening. The races are divided by projected finish time:
- Race 1 is for runners aiming for a time under 18 minutes.
- Race 2 is for runners aiming for a time over 18 minutes.
Each race has an entry limit of 60 participants.
Practical Information
The event is described as a no-frills race with no prizes. Entries open on April 1, 2026, and close on May 18, 2026. There are no entries on the day of the race.
