Fast 5 Road Race at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena
The Preston Fast 5 Road Race is a performance-focused running event held at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston. The event takes place on a dedicated one-mile cycle track, providing a traffic-free environment for participants. The course is flat and designed without tight corners to assist runners in maintaining a consistent pace.
Participants complete three laps of the cycle track to reach the total distance of 5 km. The course is accurately measured, making it a suitable venue for runners seeking an official time on a standard distance. This event is part of a series of four Wednesday evening races held throughout the spring and early summer seasons.
The event structure includes two separate heats based on expected finishing times:
- 5 km (Sub 18:00 minutes)
- 5 km (Over 18:00 minutes)
Each heat is limited to 60 entrants to ensure clear conditions on the track. The race is a no-frills event focused on the competition itself, and as such, no prizes are awarded. The minimum age for participation is 16 years old.
Race logistics include on-site toilet facilities at the Sports Arena. Race numbers are available for collection at the venue on the day of the event. All entries must be completed in advance as there are no registrations available on the day of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
