PrairieFest 5K & One Mile Prairie Dog Jog
PrairieFest 5K & One Mile Prairie Dog Jog takes place in Oswego, Illinois on June 21, 2026. The event is organized by the Oswegoland Park District with timing and scoring provided by ShaZam Racing. The course uses local streets and park paths near 313 East Washington Street and Prairie Point Community Park.

- 5K : chip-timed road race through Oswego neighborhoods
- 1 Mile : One Mile Prairie Dog Jog around Prairie Point Community Park
The 5K is chip timed. Medals are awarded for first through third place finishers in each age group in the 5K. Overall 5K awards are given to the top male and top female by gun time. Age group awards for the 5K are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in the following brackets: 10 & Under, 11–13, 14–17, 18–23, 24–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70 & Over, measured by net time. The One Mile presents overall awards for the first place finisher and the first place dog finisher by gun time.
Registration uses tiered pricing with higher fees closer to race day and on race day. T-shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by June 3; after that date shirts are available while supplies last. There are no refunds for athletic events. Packet pickup is available on days prior to the event at the PrairieFest information booth and on event day at the Grove Center (3220 Grove Rd.). Participants may pick up packets for registered friends if they present a photo of the friend’s driver’s license. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
