PrairieFest 5K & One Mile Prairie Dog Jog
The event takes place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 313 East Washington Street, Oswego, IL. The organizer is the Oswegoland Park District and timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing. The program includes two race options:
- 5K
- One Mile Prairie Dog Jog
The 5K is chip timed and runs through Oswego neighborhoods. The One Mile course goes around Prairie Point Community Park. Medals are awarded for first through third place finishers in each 5K age group. Overall 5K awards are given to the top male and top female by gun time. 5K age group awards (net time) are given to the top three males and females in the following groups: 10 & Under, 11-13, 14-17, 18-23, 24-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over. One Mile overall awards include first place finisher and first place dog finisher by gun time.
Registration, shirts and packet pickup
T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered by June 3; after that date shirts are available as supplies last. The event policy states there are no refunds for athletic events.
Registration fees vary by date. 5K fees range from $36 (early) up to $51 (race day). One Mile fees range from $21 (early) up to $31 (race day).
Packet pickup is available Thursday 6/18 and Saturday 6/20 at the PrairieFest Information Booth, and on race day at Grove Center (3220 Grove Rd.). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
