Event Overview
The PrairieFest 5K & One Mile Prairie Dog Jog takes place in Oswego, Illinois. The event is organized by the Oswegoland Park District. There are two race distances: a 5K and a One Mile run.
Race Details
The event takes place on Father's Day. The 5K route goes through Oswego neighborhoods. The One Mile Prairie Dog Jog route goes around Prairie Point Community Park. Timing and scoring for the races is provided by ShaZam Racing. The 5K uses chip timing.
Registration & Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on the Thursday and Saturday before the race at the PrairieFest Information Booth, and on race day at the Grove Center. Participants can pick up packets for friends with a picture of the friend's driver's license.
Registration for the 5K has tiered pricing from February 1 through race day. Registration for the One Mile has tiered pricing through race day. Race day registration for both events begins at 7:00 AM.
Awards
An awards ceremony is scheduled. For the 5K, awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers (gun time), and the top three males and females in each age group (net time). Age groups range from 10 & Under to 70 & Over.
For the One Mile, awards are given to the first place finisher and the first place dog finisher (gun time).
Additional Information
A t-shirt is guaranteed for all runners registered by June 3. After that date, shirts are available while supplies last. The event has a no-refunds policy for athletic events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
