Santa Shuffle 5k
The Santa Shuffle is a chip timed 5k held in Rockdale, starting and ending at Roc City Bar & Grill (508 Moen Ave). The course winds through the streets of Rockdale and West Park and is described as hilly rather than flat. Pre-registered participants receive a custom winter beanie and a custom t-shirt; all finishers receive a finisher's medal. A post-race gathering takes place at Roc City Bar & Grill.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners and to masters (age 50+) male and female winners. Age group awards are given to the top 3 male and female finishers in each bracket (0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+).
Packet pickup for pre-registered runners is scheduled for Friday, December 4, 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Inwood Athletic Club (3000 W. Jefferson, Joliet); packet pickup is also available on race day. There is no separate virtual registration; runners who register to run virtually must pick up packets in person. Organized groups of 15 or more may receive a $5 discount per runner; Inwood Run Club rates and group discount rules apply.
Registration fees: $42 pre-registration through November 8; $47 November 9 through December 4; $55 race day if available. Gear check is not available. Pets, strollers, wagons, bikes, and rollerblades are not permitted on the course. Street parking is available on Moen Ave and nearby side streets, with additional surface lots noted at Moen and Stryker and at Rockdale Village Hall / Police Department. No refunds are issued for inclement weather or race cancellation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
