Prairie Fire Race Series
The Prairie Fire Race Series in Wichita is organized by the Wichita Sports Commission and includes spring and fall race events. The series traces its origins to the inaugural Prairie Fire Marathon in 2010. Over 15 years the races have attracted more than 60,000 participants and entrants have come from all 50 states and more than 20 foreign countries. The Wichita Sports Commission reports it has contributed over $200,000 to local charities and organizations through the event.
