Prairie Fire Race Series
The Prairie Fire Race Series stages spring and fall road races in Wichita, Kansas. Formerly known as the Wichita Marathon, the event series centers on the Prairie Fire Marathon and includes shorter distances held in both spring and fall.
The fall marathon began in 2010 and a spring half marathon was added in 2013. Over the past 15 years the series has recorded participation by more than 65,000 runners from all 50 states and more than 20 countries.

Upcoming editions listed on the event calendar include the Prairie Fire Fall Races on October 11, 2026 (the second Sunday in October) and the Prairie Fire Spring Races on May 2, 2027 (the first Sunday in May). Course information, course maps, and a runners guide are provided for race editions. The marathon is run on an urban, flat, fast course that is Boston Marathon qualifying.
