Course, safety and logistics
The long course starts from Crone Woods, goes up over Maulin peak, down to the Dargle river, then up Djouce and returns along the Wicklow Way to the finish. The first part of the course as far as Maulin will be marked; this year the approach to Maulin is from the west, the same course used in 2023. Mandatory kit is Level B and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. The exact kit to carry may be finalised on the day. Parking at Crone Woods is limited; organisers note carpooling of three to four people per car where possible. Prizegiving will take place at the registration area. Non-running volunteers must complete two non-running roles in a calendar year to qualify for the end-of-year prize.
