Pounding the Pavement for Pink
Pounding the Pavement for Pink is an annual community 5k road race in Seymour, Connecticut, organized in partnership by Seymour Pink and Seymour Tradition to support Seymour Pink's mission and fight breast cancer. The event has run for multiple years; in its first year the two organizations raised $24,000, and the 5k alone has contributed over $1.5 million toward Seymour Pink's mission.
The in-person race takes place on Broad Street in Seymour on the first Saturday in October. A virtual option is offered during the first Friday through Sunday of October, allowing participants to walk or run the 5k from other locations and submit proof of time. A separate kids fun run is available for children ages 8 and under; this is offered both live in Seymour and as a virtual fun run.
The live 5k uses age race brackets and accepts runners and walkers. Age brackets listed for the 5k include: 13 and under; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-50; 60-69; 70-79; 80+.
