Event Information
This is the 39th annual Brookfield Lions Run for Sight, a 4-mile running event. It takes place on New Year's Day in Brookfield, Connecticut. The start and finish are at Brookfield High School. Race day registration is available on-site.
Course
The course begins in front of Brookfield High School. It goes north on Long Meadow Hill Road, turns left onto Hillandale Road, right onto Farview Road, right onto Ironworks Hill Road, and right again back onto Long Meadow Hill Road for a finish described as "flat and fast" back at the high school.
Awards and Charity
The event raises money for the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation and other local charities. Awards include cash prizes: $100 for first place overall (male and female), $50 for first place masters (40+), and age bracket awards for first, second, and third place. An additional $100 cash prize is offered for breaking the course record.
