Brookfield Lions Run for Sight 4-Miler
The Brookfield Lions Run for Sight 4-Miler is an annual athletic event held on New Year's Day in Brookfield, Connecticut. Celebrating its 39th year, the race functions as a fundraiser to support the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation and various local charities. Participants compete on a 4-mile course that utilizes the roads surrounding the local high school.
The route begins in front of Brookfield High School and follows a loop through several local streets. Runners travel north on Long Meadow Hill Road, turn left onto Hillandale Road, and continue with turns onto Farview Road and Ironworks Hill Road. The final stretch returns to Long Meadow Hill Road, providing a flat section leading back to the finish line at the school.
The event features several categories for recognition and awards:

Cash prizes are awarded to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the first-place male and female runners in the Masters category for those aged 40 and older. Additionally, there are awards for the first three finishers in various age brackets. A specific cash prize is reserved for any participant who sets a new course record. The current records stand at 18:57 for men and 22:17 for women. The first 100 individuals to register receive a custom long-sleeve shirt. A fundraising program is also in place where individual participants who donate a specific threshold to the cause receive a refund on their entry fee.
