Poultry and Pie Predictor 4 Mile Run/Walk and 1 Mile Kids Run
A Will County Thanksgiving tradition held at the Barber & Oberwortmann Horticultural Center in Pilcher Park, Joliet, on 11/26/2026. The event features prediction and children’s races, refreshments, and postrace awards.
Distances
- 4 Miles: predictor run/walk, ages 13 and older; strollers allowed; 250 participant limit.
- 1 Mile: kids run for ages 6 to 12; bib required for official time.
- 25 Yards: free toddler dash for children 6 and under; participants receive a goodie bag.
The 4 mile event is a prediction race: entrants estimate their time for the 4 mile course and those closest to their prediction may choose prizes such as frozen turkeys, holiday pie or sweets, and gift cards. Participants are asked not to use watches, phones, music players, or other devices that assist pacing; the event operates on the honor system. Timing is hand timed rather than chipped and results will be posted later.
Online registration opens 10/01/2026 and closes 11/25/2026; there is no race day registration. Fees listed by event are $20 for the 4 mile, $12 for the 1 mile, and free for the toddler dash. Parking is limited; volunteers will assist with parking. The event proceeds rain or shine and no refunds will be issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
