The Forge Trail Run Festival - Lemont, IL
The Forge Trail Run Festival is a trail running event held on November 14, 2026, with start and finish inside The Forge at 227 Heritage Quarries Drive, Lemont, IL. Courses run through woods, on single- and double-track trails, and on some flat gravel paths around the historic Lemont Quarries and the I&M Canal.
Distances are organized as laps on a single course:
- 10K (one lap)
- 20K (Half Marathon) (two laps)
- 30K (three laps)
- 60K (six laps)
Terrain includes flat gravel sections and single-track segments with variable surfaces such as dirt, grass, rocks, mud, roots, mulch, and stumps. A few single-track sections are technical with several short but steep inclines and downhills. There are no significant elevation changes. Trail running shoes are recommended.
A staffed aid station is located at approximately mile 6.2 and will service the 20K, 30K, and 60K as they begin additional laps; there is no aid station on the 10K. Participants are encouraged to carry their own hydration and fuel and to minimize use of disposable cups. The event has a race cap of 400. Awards are given for 1st to 3rd overall male and female in each distance, and additional prizes and raffles may be offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
