Potters 'arf Marathon
The Potters 'arf Marathon is a half marathon held in Stoke-on-Trent that was first staged in 2005. The race covers the standard half marathon distance of 13.1 miles and includes a notable climb known locally as Heartbreak Hill. The course finishes in the city centre, with local spectators lining parts of the route.
The event attracts entrants from across the country and can host up to 3,000 participants. Over the years participants have raised tens of thousands of pounds for charities connected to the event. The race receives support from headline sponsors, local businesses and partners, and the project is part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
