Peak Raid Race 4 Alstonefield South
Peak Raid Race 4 Alstonefield South is a fell running event held in the Peak District. The race follows a score format, where participants receive a waterproof map at the start and have a three-hour time limit to visit as many control points as possible. Each control point carries a specific value, and points are deducted for returning after the time limit.
The event takes place across hills, moors, and dales, involving terrain that ranges from high moorland to limestone dales with established footpath networks. Participants must choose their own routes based on their abilities and the prevailing weather conditions. This event is the fourth in a series of four races held across different locations in the region.
Participants may enter as solo runners or in pairs. The event features 15 different categories based on age and gender, including:
- Solo or Pairs (Senior, Vet 40, Vet 50, Vet 60, Vet 70)
- Mixed Pairs (Senior, Vet 40, Vet 50, Vet 60)
- Parent/Guardian and Under 18
The minimum age for participation is 14 years old. All competitors are required to carry mandatory safety equipment, including waterproof whole-body cover with taped seams, a hat, gloves, a compass, a whistle, emergency food, and a survival bag. Entry fees vary based on the registration date and membership status with the Fell Runners Association.
Registration is located in Alstonefield. Due to landowner restrictions and livestock safety, dogs are not permitted to accompany participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
