Peak Raid Race 4 Alstonefield South
Peak Raid Race 4 is the fourth event in a series of four three hour fell running score races held in 2026. The race takes place in Alstonefield in the Peak District and uses moorland, hills and limestone dales with a variety of terrain from high moorland to more runnable footpaths. Competitors are given a waterproof map with control descriptions and points values at the start and have three hours to visit as many controls as possible. Points are lost for late return.
The event uses a score format with individual route choice and is timed using SiTiming. Entrants may compete solo or as a pair; pairs may enter any category and a pair’s category is determined by the age of the older competitor. Minimum age to enter is 14 and age categories are determined by age on 31/12/2026. There are 15 competition categories including single gender and mixed pairs and a parent or guardian with under 18 category.
FRA mandatory minimum kit is required and will be checked on the day. Required items include waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, map provided at the event, compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag. Dogs are not permitted due to landowner conditions, FRA recommendations and potential risks to wildlife and livestock.
Entries open 11 February 2026 and close 3 December 2026. Early standard and late entry fees apply and FRA members receive a two pound reduction. Prizes require completion of a minimum of two races in the series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
