Peak Raid Race 4 Alstonefield South
Peak Raid Race 4 Alstonefield South is a fell running event held in the Peak District. This competition follows a score format where participants have a time limit of three hours to visit as many control points as possible. The event takes place across hills, moors, and dales, requiring participants to utilize navigation skills and make strategic route choices.
The course utilizes various types of terrain, ranging from limestone dales with established footpath networks to high moorland. Because it is a score event, there is no fixed route; participants select their own path based on their ability and the prevailing weather conditions. This event is part of a four-race series, and points are awarded for each control point visited, with penalties applied for exceeding the time limit.
Participants can compete in the following formats:
- Solo
- Pairs (including mixed pairs)
- Parent/Guardian and Junior (ages 14 to 17)
The minimum age for entry is 14 years old. All competitors must carry mandatory safety equipment, including waterproof whole-body cover with taped seams and an integrated hood, hat, gloves, compass, whistle, survival bag, and emergency food. A waterproof map with control descriptions and point values is provided at the start. Use of the SiTiming system is required for tracking and results. Due to landowner restrictions and livestock safety, dogs are not permitted at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
