About the race
Peak Raid Race 4 Alstonefield is a three hour fell running score event held in Alstonefield in the Peak District on 6 December 2026. Competitors receive a waterproof map with control descriptions and point values and then have three hours to visit controls and score as many points as possible; points are lost for lateness. The event uses SiTiming and a score format that lets competitors choose their own route across moors, hills and limestone dales with a network of footpaths.
The race is the fourth in a series of four three hour races in 2026; earlier rounds take place at Hayfield, Edale and Eastern Moors. Entrants may compete solo or as a pair; pairs and age categories are determined by the age of the oldest competitor on 31 December 2026. A parent or guardian may pair with a junior provided the junior is at least 14 and the adult is over 21.
All competitors must carry the FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit: waterproof whole body cover (jacket and trousers with taped seams and attached hood), hat, gloves, map (provided), compass, whistle, emergency food and a survival bag. Kit checks are carried out on the day. Prizes count only for entrants who complete a minimum of two races in the series; prizes are awarded by category with 1st to 3rd where applicable.
