Event Format
This event is Race 4 in the Peak Raid series. It is a 3-hour fell running event with a score format, meaning competitors select their own route. They aim to collect as many points as possible by visiting controls within the time limit.
Terrain and Location
The running takes place in the Peak District around Alstonefield. The area features hills, moors, and limestone dales with a network of footpaths.
Participation
Competitors can enter solo or as a pair. Pairs can be in any category. There is also a parent/guardian and under-18 pair category, where the junior must be at least 14 years old and the adult must be over 21. The overall series result is based on a competitor's best three races.
Rules and Requirements
Participants must be 14 or older. Registration on the day opens from 7:30 am, with competitors starting in pre-selected five-minute slots between 8 am and 10 am. All competitors must carry or wear the FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit, including waterproof full-body cover, hat, gloves, a map, compass, whistle, emergency food, and a survival bag. Kit will be checked.
Categories and Prizes
There are fifteen categories: ten for solos or pairs (divided by gender and age) and five for mixed pairs. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category, provided the entrant completes at least two races in the series.
