Potomac Street Mile - Brunswick, MD
The Potomac Street Mile is a one mile road race held in downtown Brunswick on August 29, 2026. The event is presented by Brunswick Main Street and is organized as a Memorial Race for a former Brunswick police chief. Race proceeds will benefit the Brunswick Heritage Museum and the Brunswick Area Food Bank.
The course is a traditional one mile out and back along East Potomac Street and is described as mostly flat. The start and finish are at Square Corner Park, 1 East Potomac Street, Brunswick, Maryland. Restrooms are provided by Potomac Street Grill near the start and finish. Parking is available in the nearby MARC train lot and the Martin’s Creek lot near Potomac Street Grill.
Runners are grouped into two heats by age: one for children 12 and under and one for runners 13 and over; a parent escort is strongly suggested for children under age 8. Awards include plaques for 1st and 2nd place overall male and female and plaques for 1st place in three age groups for males and females: 8-12, 13-17, and 18 and over.
Pre-registration opens in late June and closes August 15, 2026. Pre-race entrance fees are listed as $10 for ages 8-12, $15 for ages 13-17, and $20 for ages 18 and over. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrants who pre-register by August 15; available sizes include Youth M and L and Adult S, M, L, XL, and XXL.
