22nd Potomac Street Mile
The Potomac Street Mile is a one mile road race held in downtown Brunswick, Maryland, with start and finish at Square Corner Park, 1 East Potomac Street. The course is a traditional out and back along East Potomac Street and is described as mostly flat.
The event is presented by Brunswick Main Street as a memorial race for the Brunswick police chief who served from 2009 until 2021. Race proceeds will benefit the Brunswick Heritage Museum and the Brunswick Area Food Bank.
Runners compete in separate heats by age category, with designated age groups for awards. Awards include plaques for first and second place overall for male and female, and first place plaques in three age groups for male and female: 8 to 12, 13 to 17, and 18 and over.
T-shirt sizes are available in youth S, M, L and adult S, M, L, XL, XXL. Registered participants who meet the event's pre-registration deadline are guaranteed a T-shirt size; sizes on race day are available first come first served.
Pre-registration fees are tiered by age: $10 for ages 8 to 12, $15 for ages 13 to 17, and $20 for ages 18 and over. Parking is available in nearby lots including the MARC train lot and Martin's Creek lot. Restrooms are provided by the Potomac Street Grill near the race start and finish.
