Event Overview
This is the 24th annual Portland Sea Dogs Mother's Day 5K. The event is organized by the Portland Sea Dogs and the Maine Track Club. It includes a 5K road race and a Kids Fun Run with free registration.
Course & Venue
The race takes place at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. The course is described as flat. It begins in front of the Portland Expo building, travels through several city streets including Park Avenue and Deering Avenue, and finishes inside the baseball stadium in front of the third base dugout.
Awards & Perks
The top overall male and female finishers receive a trophy, a pair of 2026 season tickets for the Sea Dogs, and the opportunity to throw a ceremonial first pitch at a future game. The top three male and female finishers in each age group also receive awards. All participants receive a complimentary ticket to a future 2026 Sea Dogs game. Commemorative shirts are available for the first 750 registrants of the 5K.
Registration & Logistics
Packet pickup and onsite registration are available at Delta Dental Park on the Friday and Saturday before the race, as well as on race day. Race proceeds support the American Cancer Society's efforts for breast cancer patients and research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
