Portaferry 10 Mile Road Race and 5 Mile Relay
The event is part of the Portaferry Gala Festival and takes place in Portaferry, County Down on Tuesday 21 July 2026. It comprises a solo road race and a team relay held along routes near Strangford Lough and the Ards coastline.

Race headquarters and number collection are based at St Columba’s College Hall, 2 Ballyphilip Road, Portaferry. Race numbers can be posted in advance or collected from Race HQ on race day. Entries are limited to 500 participants and close on Sunday 19 July 2026 at 6PM; no entries are accepted on race day.
Entry fees and minimum ages are published for each event. The 10 mile race has separate fees for Athletics Northern Ireland registered and unregistered entrants, and the relay is priced per team. Minimum ages apply: 17 for the 10 mile race and 16 for the 5 mile relay.
Timing and awards are formalised: professional chipped timing is provided, prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers, age-category winners are recognised across multiple over-age groups, and relay team prizes include male, female and mixed categories. All finishers receive refreshments and a finisher medal; the first 100 entries receive an exclusive Portaferry Gala mug. Car parking is available with directions from race marshals.
