Lakeland Paws: Whinlatter Tails
This event is part of the Lakeland Paws series Season 5 and is based at Whinlatter Forest. Each event uses individual starts so dogs have space at the start. Courses follow a mix of forest roads and trails and are marked.
The original Seat How route includes sections that are narrower and steeper; on these sections only one dog may run with each runner and dogs must be on a suitable harness. Athletes may also compete without dogs. There are ongoing forest works this season, so the organiser may switch to an alternative Whinlatter course if necessary.
Distances offered include:
- 8K (5 miles): 360 m ascent, reaches Seat How summit
- 5K (3 miles): 240 m ascent, joins the second half of the longer route
The event is chip timed and marshalled. GPX files are available to download. Minimum age to enter is 16 and an entry fee of £20 applies.
