Christmas Pudding 10k
The Christmas Pudding 10k is a festive road running event held in the Great Langdale Valley, with the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel as the event location. The race covers 10 km on very quiet Lakeland roads that remain open to other road users; marshals and signage are in place and medical cover is provided.
The event includes a fancy dress competition with prizes and class prizes for Open and Veteran age groups. The two best fancy dress outfits receive tickets for the Brimstone Spa. Prize vouchers are also awarded to top finishers. Each finisher is offered a full size Christmas pudding unless they chose to opt out.
Entry fees vary by category, with prices shown from £10 to £25 depending on age group and membership status. The minimum age for entrants is 15 years and the time limit for the course is two hours; runners not reaching half way within 50 minutes will be timed out.
Facilities on site include portable toilets, baggage storage and food and drink available from the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. A water station is placed at 5.6 km and will provide water and mulled wine for those over 18; reusable cups are recommended as cups are not supplied at the station. Parking is on grass at the hotel with a parking charge or free parking for cars carrying four or more passengers.
