Langdale Christmas Pudding 10k
The Langdale Christmas Pudding 10k is a festive road race held in the Langdale Valley on Saturday 12 December 2026. The event is a 10 km road run on very quiet Lakeland roads that remain open to other road users; marshals and signage are in place and runners are asked to stay left and run no more than two abreast.
Entry options include a standard earlybird fee of £25 and a lower earlybird fee of £23 for entries with EA membership; reduced rates apply for U25 and U18 categories. Minimum age is 15. Entries are not transferable and there are no entries on the day.
Race logistics: registration is at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel on race day and race numbers must be attached horizontally and worn visibly for timing. Baggage storage is provided. The race has a two hour overall time limit and a half way cutoff: runners not at the half-way point within 50 minutes will be timed out.
Facilities and safety: portable toilets and a urinal unit are on site; the hotel will serve hot food and drinks. Advanced Life Support medics are in attendance; medics focus on medical emergencies and may not treat minor injuries. If a runner retires they must report to a marshal or the finish and hand in their race number.
Refreshments and prizes: a water station is located at 5.6 km and will offer water and mulled wine for over 18s. Participants are asked to carry their own water or bring a reusable cup because cups will not be supplied at the station. Each finisher who did not opt out will receive a full size Christmas pudding. Fancy dress is encouraged with prizes for the best outfits; competitive prizes are awarded in Open and Veteran classes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
