Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race : January 2, 2027
The third running of the Northside Hospital Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race is a winter, reverse-format event that starts at Piedmont Park and finishes at Lenox Square. The course runs along Peachtree with a right turn where runners normally turn left, and the route descends where Cardiac Hill is usually climbed.
Distance: 10K (ages 10 and older).
Finisher items include an adidas crewneck sweatshirt and a medal; these items are awarded only to participants who complete the event and cross the finish line.
Registration opened for members in an early window in January 2026, with general public registration beginning July 4, 2026. General registration fees listed were $70 for members and $75 for non-members, plus additional fees. Wave assignments are based on submitted past performances; only 5K and 10K race times from 2026 will be accepted for wave placement. Participants who do not submit a time will be placed in a later wave.
Course time limit for the 10K is 1 hour 45 minutes (17 minutes per mile); participants who fall behind may be moved to the sidewalk and may not receive an official finisher result. For safety, no pets or wheeled conveyances of any kind are permitted on the course, and headphones are strongly discouraged.
Awards: overall and masters awards are based on gun time; age group awards are based on net time. Overall prize money details were listed as to be announced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
