Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race 2027
The Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race will be held on January 2, 2027. This is the third running of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Polar Opposite Peachtree. The event runs the Peachtree course in reverse, starting at Piedmont Park and finishing at Lenox Square. Runners will turn right on Peachtree instead of left on 10th and will descend where Cardiac Hill is normally climbed.
The distance is 10K and the event is open to ages 10 and older. The course time limit for the 10K is 1 hour and 45 minutes, equivalent to a 17 minute per mile pace; participants who fall behind this mark may be moved to the sidewalk and may not receive an official finisher result. No pets or wheeled conveyances of any kind are permitted on the course. Headphones are strongly discouraged.
Finisher items include an adidas crewneck sweatshirt and a medal; these are awarded only to participants who complete the event and cross the finish line. Awards include overall and masters prizes and age group awards. Overall winners must be Atlanta Track Club members to receive prize money. Age group awards for top finishers are mailed after the event.
Registration opened for Atlanta Track Club members January 3 to January 12, 2026. General registration reopens July 4, 2026. Fee tiers stated by the organizer include a members only rate of $70 during the early window and later rates of $75 for members and $85 for non members plus additional fees. Wave assignments will be based on submitted race times from 5K and 10K performances in 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
