About the race
The Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race is a winter, reversed version of the Peachtree course held on January 2, 2027. The route starts at Piedmont Park and finishes at Lenox Square, with runners turning right on Peachtree instead of the usual left on 10th and running downhill where Cardiac Hill is normally climbed.
Distances
- 10K (ages 10 and older)
Registration included an early window for Atlanta Track Club members from January 2 through January 12, 2026. General registration for the public opened July 4, 2026. Entry fees were listed as $70 for members and $75 for non-members, plus additional fees.
Finisher items for this event are an adidas sweatshirt and a medal; these items are awarded only to participants who complete the race and cross the finish line.
The 10K has a course time limit of 1 hour and 45 minutes (17 minute per mile pace). Atlanta Track Club will implement rolling lane closures; participants who fall behind the time limit may be moved to the sidewalk and may not receive an official finisher result. Pets and wheeled conveyances of any kind are not permitted on the course and headphones are strongly discouraged.
Wave assignments are based on past performances with an opportunity to submit 2026 5K and 10K times for placement. Overall and masters awards use gun time; age group awards use net time. Overall prize money for male and female categories is listed as TBA and overall winners must be club members to receive prize money. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
