Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race : January 2, 2027
The third running of the Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race is scheduled for January 2, 2027. The event uses the Peachtree corridor in reverse, starting at Piedmont Park and finishing at Lenox Square. The route sends participants right onto Peachtree from 10th Street and descends where Cardiac Hill is normally climbed.
The race distance is 10K, open to participants ages 10 and older. The course has a time limit of 1 hour and 45 minutes, which corresponds to a 17 minute per mile pace. Atlanta Track Club will operate carefully managed rolling lane closures along the route; participants who fall behind the closure mark will be asked to move to the sidewalk and may not receive an official finisher result.
Registration included an exclusive early window for Atlanta Track Club members in early January 2026, with a general registration window reopening on July 4, 2026. Published entry fees included a members-only rate of $70 and general rates of $75 for members and $85 for non-members, plus additional fees.
Finisher items include an adidas crewneck sweatshirt and a medal; these items are distributed only to participants who complete the event. Wave assignments are based on submitted past performances; only 5K and 10K times from 2026 are accepted for placement. The event prohibits pets and wheeled conveyances such as strollers, skates, and bicycles. Limited parking is available near the start; participants are encouraged to use Lenox Square or Phipps Plaza and access the start by MARTA or walking.
