Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race : January 2, 2027
The Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race is a 10K held on January 2, 2027, open to participants ages 10 and older. The course starts at Piedmont Park and finishes at Lenox Square, running the Peachtree route in reverse; runners turn right on Peachtree instead of left on 10th and descend where Cardiac Hill is usually climbed.
Registration windows for early member and general registration in 2026 have closed; registration will open one final time in November 2026. General public registration in July 2026 listed member and non-member fees of $70 and $75 respectively, plus additional fees.
Finisher items include an adidas crewneck sweatshirt and a medal; participants must complete the event and cross the finish line to receive these items. The event enforces a course time limit for the 10K of 1 hour and 45 minutes (approximately a 17 minute per mile pace); participants who fall behind may be asked to move to the sidewalk and could be ineligible for an official finisher result.
Atlanta Track Club assigns waves based on submitted race times, accepting only 5K and 10K performances from 2026 for placement; participants without submitted times will be placed in later waves. No pets or wheeled conveyances are permitted on the course, and headphones are strongly discouraged.
Awards use gun time for overall and masters results and net time for age group awards. Overall winners must be club members to receive prize money; age group awards are mailed after the event. Transportation and parking guidance notes limited parking at Piedmont Park and recommends using Lenox Square or Phipps Plaza with MARTA access to Midtown or Arts Center stations.
