Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race : January 2, 2027
The Polar Opposite Peachtree Road Race is scheduled for January 2, 2027 and is the third edition of this winter, reverse-format Peachtree event. The course starts at Piedmont Park and finishes at Lenox Square, routing right onto Peachtree instead of the usual left on 10th. Runners descend where Cardiac Hill is normally climbed.
The event distance is 10K and is open to participants ages 10 and older. Finisher items include an adidas crewneck sweatshirt and a medal; these items are distributed only to participants who complete the race and cross the finish line.
Registration windows reported for 2027 were an Atlanta Track Club members-only period January 3–12, 2026, and a general public registration reopening July 4, 2026. Fee examples listed include members-only $70, later-members $75, and non-members $85 plus additional fees.
A course time limit for the 10K is one hour and forty-five minutes (about a 17 minute per mile pace). Atlanta Track Club will use rolling lane closures along the route; participants who fall behind the pace may be asked to move to the sidewalk and could lose official results. No pets or wheeled conveyances of any kind are permitted on course. Headphones are strongly discouraged.
Wave assignments are based on submitted past performances; only 5K and 10K times from 2026 will be accepted for wave placement. Overall prize money details are listed as TBA and overall winners must be Atlanta Track Club members to receive prize money. Age group awards are based on net time and are mailed after the event.
