44th Annual - Polar Bear Winter Classic
The 44th Annual Polar Bear Winter Classic takes place on February 28, 2026 in Indianapolis, IN. The event is organized by SJC Racing and will start from a new location: Fowling Warehouse Indianapolis, 1125 E Brookside Ave d9, Indianapolis, IN 46202. The race is scheduled in the second half of February and is positioned as an early-season road race for the area.
Race format and details
The event offers in-person race options:
- 5K Run - Price $40
- 5 Mile Run - Price $45
- The Bear (5K + 5 Mile) - Price $50; total distance 8.1 miles
Virtual options are available for the 5K, 5 Mile, and The Bear, with prices ranging $40 to $50. Entry prices increase after December 7, 2025. Runners registered before February 1 receive a finisher medal and a "Wear the Bear" winter hat; optional long sleeve shirts and hoodies are available as add-ons. The event includes cash prizes and age-group awards for all three distances. A post-race celebration will be held inside the Fowling Warehouse.
