Event overview
The 44th Annual Polar Bear Winter Classic takes place on February 28, 2026 in Indianapolis, IN. The race is organized by SJC Racing and will start from a new location at Fowling Warehouse Indianapolis, 1125 E Brookside Ave d9, Indianapolis, IN 46202. The event is scheduled in late February and is described as positioned to be the first major road race of the year in Indianapolis.

Entry fees listed are $40 for the 5K, $45 for the 5 Mile, $50 for The Bear, and $40–$50 for virtual entries. Prices increase after December 7, 2025.
All runners registered before February 1 receive a finisher medal and a winter hat called "Wear the Bear". Optional apparel including a long sleeve shirt and a hoodie are available as add-ons or from the race store. Cash prizes and age-group awards are offered for all three in-person distances.
