Polar Bear Winter Classic : 45th Annual
The 45th Annual Polar Bear Winter Classic takes place in Indianapolis on February 27, 2027. The event returns to Fowling Warehouse Indianapolis at 1125 E Brookside Ave and continues a long local tradition as one of the oldest races in the city.
The event program includes the following distance options:
- 5K Run
- 5 Mile Run
- The Bear (the 5K plus the 5 Mile run, combined for about 8.1 miles)
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual 5 Mile
- Virtual Bear (virtual 5K plus 5 Mile)
Race services include packet pickup at the Fowling Warehouse prior to race day and on race morning at the venue. The first 1,000 registrants are guaranteed a finisher medal and a winter "Wear the Bear" hat; optional long sleeve shirts and hoodies are available as add ons. Age group awards are presented for all three distances and the top three overall men and women in each event earn cash prizes. Age group awards must be claimed at the after party inside Fowling Warehouse and will not be mailed.
Dogs are allowed in the 5K only and must be on leash. Walkers may participate; The Bear entrants must complete the 5K within 45 minutes to continue.
