Plymouth Triathlon
The Plymouth Triathlon takes place at Mount Edgcumbe, located a short ferry ride from the center of Plymouth. This British Triathlon registered event features a multi-sport course that utilizes the grounds of Mount Edgcumbe and surrounding areas. Participants can access the venue via the Cremyll Ferry, the Torpoint Car Ferry, or by driving through Cornwall.
The event includes a sea swim in a sheltered area with land on both sides. The cycling portion follows rolling roads that provide views of the sea, while the running stage consists of 5 km laps around the estate grounds. Feed stations are located along the route, providing water and energy drinks in biodegradable paper cups.
The following distances and formats are available:
- Middle Distance Triathlon: 1900 m swim, 90 km bike, and 20 km run.
- Standard Triathlon: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run.
- Standard Aquabike: 1500 m swim and 40 km bike.
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run.
All participants receive professional chip timing, a silicone swim hat, and a drinks bottle. The course is fully marked and marshalled, supported by professional first aid and water safety teams.
