Tavy 5k
The Tavy 5k is a regularly held measured 5 km road race organised by Tavistock Athletic Club. It uses an officially measured, fast and flat course that starts and finishes on the club athletic track and runs around Tavistock College grounds and through The Meadows on tarmac footpaths. The event is staged monthly on the third Saturday of the month, with free car parking available at Tavistock College.
The event is run under UK Athletics rules and held under an event licence covering the period June 2026 to May 2027. Age category records have been revised to include U12, U14, U16 and U18 classes in line with UK Athletics guidance. Entry fees are set at £4 for unaffiliated runners and £2 for affiliated runners, with organisers noting a recent fee increase. On-the-day paper entry is possible where online entry is closed.
There are specific rules for younger participants: children under 11 on race day are not permitted to run, and runners aged 11 to under 18 may only take part with written permission from a parent or legal guardian. Where a parent or guardian is present they may complete a consent form; if not, a signed letter of consent must be supplied. The event maintains a results archive and age-category records for recent years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
