Pinehurst Turkey Trot

The Pinehurst Turkey Trot is a long-standing running event held in the Sandhills region of central North Carolina. Participants navigate a course that passes through the residential neighborhoods and streets of the Village of Pinehurst. The event starts and finishes at The Village Arboretum.

Participants have the choice of two distinct distances:

  • 5 km running race
  • 1 mile fun run

This event includes a festive theme where runners often wear turkey-themed costumes. Each registered participant receives a long-sleeve race shirt and a finisher medal upon completion of their distance. The course is designed to highlight the scenic landscape of the village area during the autumn season.

The event recognizes performance across several categories. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female runners, as well as the top masters male and female participants. Additionally, age group awards are provided three deep for those competing in the 5k race. The gathering serves as a community celebration for friends and families ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
