Wings of Hope 5K - Fundraiser for the Cancer CARE Fund
The Wings of Hope 5K is a community fundraiser held on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at FirstHealth Fitness Center, Pinehurst, 170 Memorial Drive, Pinehurst NC. The event raises money for the FirstHealth Cancer CARE Fund, a fund established in 2000 that has dispersed over three million dollars to cover cancer patients' vital needs. One hundred percent of proceeds from this race go directly to community cancer support.
The event program includes an opening celebration, a timed 5K walk and run, a Survivor Celebration Station with special gifts for survivors, and a Celebration Village with a Survivor Spotlight Station, lung screening education, community partners and vendors, kids activities, food trucks, and music. The FirstHealth Lung Bus will be onsite and eligible participants may receive a low-dose CT lung screening at no cost; screening eligibility requirements apply. The event features a costume contest with prizes and winner categories by age and best dressed.
The trail is a 5k loop around the Pinehurst community among longleaf pines, with modest inclines on gravel and pavement. Strollers are welcome and only service animals are permitted. Entry fees are listed as $25 for adults and $10 for children 13 and under; FirstHealth employees may register at a discounted rate of $15 with a current ID badge at registration.
