About the race

The Pine Knoll Shores Turkey Trot is the 19th annual community run and walk held on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2026, in Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina. The event is organized by the Town of Pine Knoll Shores Parks and Recreation Committee and proceeds support the Hope for the Warriors Angel Tree Project.

The 5K follows residential streets and passes through the Crystal Coast Country Club golf course; dogs and baby strollers are not permitted on the golf course. The 1.5 mile dog stroll remains on the neighborhood streets and does not enter the country club. Participants who wish to use a stroller for the full 5K are asked to consider completing two loops of the dog stroll course instead.

Online registration is free and is available through midnight on November 25. Same day registration is available the afternoon of November 25 at McNeill Park and on Thanksgiving morning at the start location, with registration closing prior to the event start. Attendance is limited to 400 registrations.

At the finish there will be water, bananas, and treats for participants. T shirt orders are accepted ahead of the event with pickup available on November 25 or on event morning. The event will occur rain or shine and includes random prize drawings and other event day amenities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
