Event Overview
The Pikes Peak Road Runners Fall Series consists of four trail races held in different city and county parks around Colorado Springs. The distances increase with each race: 3.8 miles, 4 miles, 5.5 miles, and 7.4 miles. The trails range from well-maintained to rocky with tree roots.
Race Details
The races are held on Sundays in October and November. The first two races start at 4:00 PM, while the last two start at 5:00 PM. The events take place at Bear Creek Terrace, North Monument Valley Park, Piñon Valley Park, and Palmer Park.
Important rules: Participants must be 15 years old or older. No animals, baby joggers, strollers, earbuds, headphones, bikes, or trikes are allowed. Violations result in disqualification. Registration is online only and closes the day before each race; there is no race day registration.
Awards and Timing
Awards are only given to those who complete all four races. There are no awards for individual races. Overall and age group awards are based on chip timing. Top five overall male and female finishers, and top three in five-year age groups (from 15-19 to 85-89) are recognized. Overall award winners are not eligible for age group awards. Awards are presented at a separate membership meeting and dinner.
Additional Information
A commemorative lightweight short-sleeve shirt with the series logo is available for an additional fee. First responders, military, and search and rescue members are eligible for a registration discount. The event has been held since 1979.
