Colorado Springs Running Festival
The Colorado Springs Marathon returns for its 13th annual edition on October 3, 2026. This multi-distance event serves a variety of participants through several distinct race formats held in the heart of the city. The primary in-person races begin and end on Vermijo at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum.
The event consists of several distance options:
- 26.2 Miles (Marathon)
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 5 km
- 1 km (Kids K)
- 26.2 Miles (Invite Only Team RWB Relay)
The marathon course proceeds west on Colorado Avenue before entering America the Beautiful Park. From there, the route follows the Greenway Trail north through Monument Valley Park. The Greenway Trail measures approximately 15 feet wide. The path surfaces transition throughout the course, beginning with cement for the first mile, moving to hard-pack pea gravel, and then changing to a paved surface through the Greenway and Santa Fe trails. Participants follow the trail before returning along the same route to the finish line located back at the Pioneers Museum.
In addition to the physical races at the venue, virtual options are available for all standard distances, including the marathon, half marathon, 5k, and 1k. A pre-race expo and packet pick-up is scheduled for the Friday prior to the event, and a finish line exhibitor area is present on race day.
