Piggy Plod Half Marathon
The Piggy Plod Half Marathon is a virtual event taking place throughout the months of May and June 2026. Organised by Bristol Vegan Runners, the event is open to all participants who wish to run or walk the designated distance. The primary purpose of the event is to raise funds for the Dean Farm Trust Animal Sanctuary located in Chepstow, which provides a home for approximately 200 animal residents.
Participants are required to complete a total distance of 13.1 miles. This distance can be covered in a single session or spread across multiple runs or walks over the two-month period. Since this is a virtual race, entrants can choose their own routes and locations.
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
Registration includes a printable race bib and an e-certificate. Participants may also opt to receive a bespoke 6cm medal, which is posted after completion. To receive credit for the event, finishers must manually log their times on the official timing website, with the option to provide links to tracking apps such as Strava or Garmin for verification.
All profits from entry fees, minus booking and medal costs, are donated to the animal sanctuary. Participants can also choose to forgo the medal to increase the donation amount. As the event takes place during the warmer months, participants are advised to plan their hydration and safety measures independently. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
