South Downs Way 50

The South Downs Way 50 is a 50 mile point-to-point foot race that takes place along the South Downs Way National Trail. This event serves as the first race in the 2026 50 Mile Grand Slam, a series consisting of four separate 50 mile events. Participants must be at least 20 years of age on the day of the race to compete.

The course begins in Worthing and concludes in Eastbourne. The route starts with six miles of chalk footpaths and bridleways, where runners climb to join the South Downs Way at Chanctonbury Ring. From this point, the path follows the South Downs Way for the remainder of the distance. The final section of the race leads participants off the trail to finish with a lap of the running track in Eastbourne.
