About the race
Centurion Running's South Downs Way 50 is a 50-mile ultramarathon along the South Downs Way National Trail, running from Worthing to Eastbourne. The course covers about 81 km with roughly 5,700 feet (1,750 m) of elevation and features seven aid stations, full medical support, and a clearly marked route under UK Athletics Permit. Runners begin on chalk footpaths from Worthing, join the SDW at Chanctonbury Ring, and follow the trail to Eastbourne, finishing with a lap of the track at Eastbourne Sports Club.
Notable features include a Windover Hill detour via Alfriston to Jevington. This is the 14th edition and part of the 50-mile Grand Slam. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
