Pickens County Meals on Wheels 5K Glow Run
Pickens County Meals on Wheels presents the eighth annual 5K Glow Run, held in Liberty, South Carolina. The route begins in front of the McKissick Center on Highway 93 and finishes at the rear of the Meals on Wheels building on Edgemont Avenue. The event includes a Glow Attire Contest with awards for first and second place and a timed 5K open to runners and walkers.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in three age brackets: 15 and under, 16 to 29, and 30 and over. Directional arrows and course monitors will mark the route and volunteers and police escorts will assist with safety on public roads. A course map is available on Strava for those who wish to review the route in advance.
Participants receive a post race snack and access to a selfie station with UV lighting. Registration opens on January 29, 2026 and closes on October 10, 2026; the listed registration fee is $25.00. Pickens County Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit organization that delivers meals and friendly safety checks to homebound seniors. The organization reports support from about 500 volunteers and daily meal delivery of about 450 meals, and notes reliance on fundraising and donations to continue services.
