Pickens County Meals on Wheels 5K Glow Run
Pickens County Meals on Wheels hosts an annual 5K Glow Run in Liberty, South Carolina. The event is set around the McKissick Center on Hwy 93 with the finish at the rear of the building on Edgemont Avenue, 349 Edgemont Avenue, Liberty, SC 29657.
The course follows public streets and includes turns on Commerce Street, Edgemont Avenue, Peachtree Street, Hillcrest, a lap around the field track, and returns to the McKissick Center parking area. Directional arrows and course monitors will mark the route, and volunteers and police escorts will be present on race day. Participants who practice the route should obey all street signs and laws.
The event features a Glow Attire Contest with awards for First and Second place. Race awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in three age brackets: 15 and under, 16 to 29, and 30 and over. A timed result format is used and the event welcomes both runners and walkers. A post-race snack will be provided, and a Selfie-Station with UV lighting is available for photos.
Pickens County Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit organization focused on reducing isolation and hunger among seniors. With about 500 volunteers the program delivers roughly 450 meals each day. In 2025 the organization served 600 seniors and provided over 80,000 meals. The program’s budget depends on fundraising and donations.
