Pickens County Meals on Wheels 5K Glow Run
Pickens County Meals on Wheels presents its 9th annual community run in Liberty, starting in front of the McKissick Center on Hwy 93 and finishing at the rear of the building on Edgemont Avenue. The event features a timed 5K open to runners and walkers and a separate glow attire contest with awards for first and second place.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in three age brackets: 15 and under, 16 to 29, and 30 and over. The course follows public roads with directional arrows and course monitors; volunteers and police officers will provide on-course support. A course map is available on Strava for those who wish to review the route in advance.
Food will be available from Pelicano Pizza before and after the run, and an after-party is planned at No Vacancy on Commerce Street. Pickens County Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit organization that uses volunteer support to deliver meals and check on homebound seniors. The organization reports 500 volunteers delivering 450 meals daily, and in 2025 served 600 seniors while providing over 80,000 meals. The event helps to support the program budget through fundraising and donations. The registration fee is $25.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
