About the race
Pi Fun Run is an in-person event at Carrier Park in Asheville that celebrates Pi Day with movement and community activities. The course covers 3.14 miles to reflect the mathematical constant pi. Participants may run, walk, skip, or trot the course; the event is presented as a fun run rather than a timed race and welcomes a range of paces.
The event is organized by UNC Asheville in partnership with the Marvelous Math Club. Proceeds support the Marvelous Math Club, a collaboration involving UNC Asheville, Asheville City Schools, and the Asheville Housing Authority. The club meets at Pisgah View Community Center, where elementary-age participants and student and community volunteers explore mathematics through games, activities, and leadership development.
The finish area includes a pie celebration. The event is listed as a two-hour, in-person activity. Ticket pricing ranges from USD 10.00 to USD 31.41, and refunds are available up to seven days before the event. The location is Carrier Park, 220 Amboy Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
